May Foodie Penpals Reveal

The Lean Green Bean
I’ve really been neglecting my little blog, but I’m currently taking Organic Chemistry, and it has decided to just run my life right now! But I wanted to make sure I posted about my May Foodie Penpal!
I received an awesome package this month from Tasha at Dine & Dash with T. She lives all the way out in California, so I was super excited to see what she might send over from the west coast!
I opened the package and the first thing that popped out to me was the Falafel Chips from Trader Joes! I had never seen them in the store before, so I had to try them right away (amazing btw!) I then noticed the sundried tomatoes, which I love to add to pastas and salads. I never remember to keep any in the house, so it’s like she was reading my mind! A great bar of chocolate is always a crowd pleaser in my house, and my new thing is actually to find them with sea salt on them. I was so happy to see this bar with sea salt AND peanuts! It’s simply delicious with the mix of salty and sweet.
The cookie butter obviously stood out. I mean who doesn’t love the two words cookie and butter being put together in the same sentence? I had seen the jars in the store at Trader Joe’s but never picked one up. Let’s just say that this is such an amazing snack. You can dip pretty much anything into this jar, and it comes out tasting delicious. Finally, I noticed something in a white paper bag that said Polly’s Pies on the outside (this has to be a good sign). It turns out Tasha gave me a jar of Five Berry Jam from a local pie shop. I am on a real jam kick right now, and I am so happy it was included in the package. Though when I’m done using the jar, I guess I’ll have to fly out to Fullerton, CA to replenish my stock!
Thanks SO much Tasha for the wonderful package!!
Wanna join all of the Foodie Penpals fun? Here are the Foodie Penpals details:

-On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
-Foodie Penpals is open to US & Canadian residents.  Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa.

If you’re interested in participating for June, please CLICK HERE to fill out the participation form and read the terms and conditions.
