October Foodie Penpals

Happy Halloween everyone! Happy Foodie Penpals reveal day, too!

This month, I was fortunate to have Allison Green send me some awesome treats from Seattle, WA. I’ve never been to the Pacific Northwest, so I could not wait to dig into the great package that Allison hand-picked from me. I was super excited when I read her note saying that most of the goodies were from Pike Place Market–how cool!

Such pretty wrapping!

Here’s what was wrapped inside:

She gave me some delicious strawberry pepper jam (in such a cute jar), loose chamomile tea, Theo dark chocolate (omg so delicious), and some honey sticks (I remember eating them all the time when I was a kid, so it was definitely a cool blast from the past).

I also got in the package lavender Dry Soda (which I’ve wanted to try for such a long time, and it was amazing!), Pop Chips (who doesn’t love those chips?), Beecher’s crackers, and fresh papparadelle pasta (love, love, love pasta).

Here is the pasta that I made! It was delicious!!

Thank you SO much Allison! It was such a nice and thoughtful package.

Check out what I sent to Jenny over on her blog!

September Foodie Penpals Reveal

What a month September has been! I started back to school (my last semester!) and since then, things have been nonstop. It’s always a nice treat to get a package in the mail, having NO idea what’s going to be inside. This month, my foodie penpal was Rachael who lives in Cincinnati, Ohio. She sent me an awesome package full of goodies from Trader Joe’s.

The Lean Green Bean

I love, love, love olive oil. I actually use it almost everyday, so seeing this bottle definitely made me happy.

Apple butter is something I love, but always forget about when I’m doing my grocery shopping. It’s definitely something I’ll be spreading onto some bread for breakfast!

I’ve never tried the artichoke antipasto before, but I do love me some spinach and artichoke dip at restaurants. This seems like a MUCH healthier version, which I appreciate.

Finally, it only took me about 5 seconds before this jar of cocoa almond spread was open. I’ve bought chocolate peanut butter before, but I love that it’s almond butter with cocoa! It’s really delicious, and it’s for sure going into my rotation when at Trader Joe’s!

Thanks Rachael for an awesome and delicious package this month!

Interested in joining Foodie Penpals?  Here is some information describing what the program is all about:

-On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
-Foodie Penpals is open to US & Canadian residents.  Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa. So, I’m going to keep two separate lists and match US w/ US and Canada w/ Canada!

If you’re interested in participating for October, please CLICK HERE to fill out the participation form and read the terms and conditions.
